The Newcastle five-piece has been wowing the press and fans alike, with its own brand of metal that has proven hard to pigeonhole.
Mixing groove metal, thrash, nu metal and a healthy dose of melody, intense vocals and tales of broken love that are the aural glue that help coalesce Where the Devil’s distinctive sound.
WTD formed in 2020 and released its first single, ‘Beast’, amid the chaos of the first COVID lockdowns. Since then, the band has released a total of eight singles, with the first six becoming the band’s first EP, ‘Bury Your Demons’. WTD has undergone a few lineup changes since its formation, with its current formation consisting Jake Mason, Ben Hosking, Daniel Wilson, Rob Carstein and Dan Johnson.
The band is based in Newcastle, NSW, with members scattered across the Hunter region. Since forming, the group has garnered strong reviews from the international metal/hard rock media for its diverse take on the genre and strong songwriting.
While the band’s recorded output has been impressive, it’s on the stage where the band really works to leave an indellible mark on
audiences wherever they perform.
