Sliptrick Records recording artist, Snake Bite Whisky was formed in December 2014 and has quickly established themselves as Australia’s number one sleaze band and have rapidly gained a large following in the international Glam/Sleaze scene. Likened to early Guns N’ Roses with a healthy dose of Motörhead and Backyard Babies, the Snakes are determined to bring the style and attitude of the eighties sunset strip scene, kicking and screaming into the present with their unique high octane mix of Punk, Outlaw Country and Heavy Metal injected Sleaze Rock.
2016 saw Snake Bite Whisky grow rapidly. They released the garage e.p. “Two Steps To Oblivion” which received extensive airplay in the U.K and U.S.A. They signed endorsement deals with Coldcock Whiskey and Dirtbag clothing. In July, played a headline show in Tijuana, Mexico and played at the 15th annual Cruefest at the Whisky ago-go in Hollywood, U.S.A. Whilst in Hollywood they recorded a new e.p with up and coming producer, Jerry Jade. The e.p, “Dirty” and was released on the 31st of October 2016. In September 2017 the band signed a global deal with Pavement Entertainment (USA). who released their debut album, “This Side Of Hell” in January 2019 distributed by Sony Red. In 2018 the Snakes headlined the second stage at Hard Rock Hell Sleaze 2 in Sheffield, U.K performing alongside Backyard Babies, LA Guns, Jetboy and also did a short U.K tour. They also supported Hardcore Superstar in Australia. Lead singer Jay R also signed an endorsement with Vocalzone U.K.
Their debut album, “This Side Of Hell” was released on the 25th of January 2019 by Pavement Entertainment(USA)/Sony Red both physically and digitally to critical acclaim and received extensive international airplay. The band toured through Australia and New Zealand in the first part of 2019. In August 2019, D.A and Ace left the band and Dan Weldon and Brad Ion joined for the three week U.K/Belgium tour. Dan has since joined the band permanently and landed an endorsement with Soultone Cymbals. In March 2020, Laggy, the ex-guitarist of Australian thrash metal band, Malakyte joined as the new guitarist. August 2021 they signed a new global deal with Sliptrick Records Europe.
Their second album, “Black Candy” was released on the 30th of March 2021 by Sliptrick records globally. Recorded at Lush Studio’s in Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia which has also seen artists such as Jason Bonham, Jimmy Barnes, Jeff Martin and The Red Paintings to name a few. Engineered and mixed by Bernie Wedrat, the follow up to their critically acclaimed debut album, “This Side Of Hell” displays an even wider range of musical influence coupled with their trademark uncompromising, non politically correct Rock N’ Roll. ‘Black Candy’ charted on the Italian iTunes Top 100 album charts at 98. The album has received rave reviews from media outlets across the globe. Snake Bite Whisky continues to grow their global fanbase with appearances at ‘Hard Power United ‘ virtual festival in Brazil and ‘Dark Malta’ virtual festival in Malta.
Full throttled, no compromise, in yer face sleaze soaked rock n’ roll. A much needed injection of nitro glycerine, “fuck you” heavy rock with attitude and flair in a dull music scene. Undoubtedly the most dangerous and intense live band in Australia.
