Kaosphere: Release Single/Video ‘Chokehold’ from Upcoming Self-Titled EP

Kaosphere, Australia’s up and coming metal act from the Gold Coast, has released their single Chokehold together with the official video of the song. Chokehold is a taste of Kaosphere’s energetic and relentless live performances and set for early release as part of self titled EP, “KAOSPHERE”, available Friday the 13th April 2018.

The video was premiered on Friday, 23 March 2018, at Heavy Mag.

Chokehold is an urban reflection:

Life and its endless struggles can crush a Man’s world and vaporise his dreams. Sometimes pain overwhelms his senses, reality is interrupted by his inner scream. There are only two choices, numb the pain or face it.  Inevitably what is held inside must be released. It is then he sees himself in his reflection…
When life’s got you in a Chokehold you can count on a wake up call… a hectic beat drives the narrative, while an agony driven vocal tears down the tension filled reality.
“We know people like this, people that live paycheck to paycheck, hocking their TVs and valuables to tie them over for the weekend. Its relentless and consuming…”, shares Kaosphere vocalist Ricci Dyer. “We’ve all struggled through that reality, it breaks you down.”

Set in a working class suburb on the Gold Coast. The video was filmed by Aversions Crown founding vocalist, Colin Jeffs.

The EP Kaosphere will be released on 13 April.

Metal United World Wide: Two Months To Go

Yes, only two more months to the biggest underground metal event! Metal United World Wide (MUWW)  is getting into the last stage of preparations. There was a bit of country shuffling with some who had to drop out and some who joined. China and Australia have added a number of cities and are participating now with 5 to 6 MUWW shows. The first flyers are appearing and lineups are finished or in the last stage of finalisation. 90 bands are playing so far but we are far from finished announcing the last one and it looks like there could be up to 200 bands participating.

Let’s have a quick look at what’s happening in the MUWW countries: Singapore was the first with a complete lineup already in January. They also offer presale. Uruguay is bringing four bands and in Sydney it’s Lethal Vendettas album launch (No Prisoners No Mercy). In Peru there are even 2 album launches at the MUWW show: Despondent Chants (The Eyes of Winter) and Fallen Symmetry (Renacer Vivo). There are more album launches planned but that information cannot be disclosed yet. Gold Coast is part of Kaosphere‘s tour.
Switzerland is bringing on a more classic heavy metal show while Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Albania and Bolivia turn to a darker side. Part of the Johannesburg show is the first African all-black Black Metal band Demogoroth Satanum.
Calgary has added a band of Mexican origin, so Mexico has finally also become part of MUWW. The French Canadian MUWW representation in Quebec has put together a 3 band lineup. Like Calgary, Estonia features an international (Finnish) band which is great after Finland could not participate due to loss of venue. We are also hoping that Egypt is able to find a new venue. Poland brings Bläkken, a Swedish band – again adding to the list of MUWW countries without a show but participating by playing a show. The same situation is in Thailand with bands from Japan and Myanmar.
Panama is in the middle of announcing bands and Mozambique is currently presenting a 3 band lineup. Costa Rica is preparing a massive show and Mongolia just published the flyer. Turkey has announced One More Page as first band, bringing on a The Voice Turkey contestant (singer Onur from One More Page). Visit our Youtube Channel where videos of most announced bands are available and you can tour the metal world with some clicks.

And then there is the war-torn Middle East with some countries like Iraq banning metal. The Iraqi band Dark Phantom is trying to get funding to travel to their neighbours in Syria and play the MUWW show in Damascus. Syria changed their organiser but is still keen to be part of MUWW with the current organiser making the following statement: “This is Jake from Maysaloon band from Damascus, Syria. Yes Syria! Despite all the bombs which are being dropped upon us, all the blood and killing, Metal Keeps us alive! I’ll be organizing the event here in the capital, it’s really an honor to be part of this with all of you!” United We Stand, Divided We Fall! \m/

Join MUWW on 5 May!

List of Shows

On May 5 this year, the Metal Community will come together for a united event, Metal United World Wide. To overcome the distances between the widespread individual communities, shows will be organised in 50 countries and 62 cities around the world on the same date under the united banner.

A huge thanks goes to all our partners who are listed here with their links:

Kaosphere: Gold Coast (Aus) Heavy Metal Band Release Self-Titled EP in April

You know, when you can’t label a band your onto something unique. Better yet, you slide into a hard groove and skip into styles you didn’t expect of a metal core band. Expect this from their new EP “Kaosphere”.

Barely taking a breathe after their Australian East Coast Tour, Kaosphere are set to release their debut self-titled E.P on 13 April 2018.  Chokehold a single from the EP will be available from 23 March 2018 from all major distributors.

Bouncing from their single release, Forsaking Shadows, the lads didn’t hold back in 2017 and left some pretty impressive scars on crowds in Newcastle and the Gold Coast. “There are places we would like to visit North from here, Bundaberg and the Sunshine Coast, and as many towns we missed on the first tour,” confirms Ricci, the bands lead vocalist.

Teaming up with Black-Roos Entertainment as their booking/promotions agent, they have their eyes set on an Australian and New Zealand Tour later in the year and will be part of Metal United World Wide.

Against Evil: Indian heavy metal sensation announce new full length

Indian heavy metal band Against Evil first enthralled listeners when they released their debut ‘Fatal Assault’ on the Indian sub-label of Transcending Obscurity. Three years later, they conjure up enough material to release their debut full length titled ‘All Hail The King’ which includes their famous song Stand Up And Fight! whose official video went viral in these parts. Their artwork has once again been made by the Croatian artist All Things Rotten (Hirax) and for the first time, there is a guest appearance by Jeff Loomis (Nevermore, Arch Enemy). No stone has been left unturned here in delivering a high quality, anthemic heavy metal album that would hold appeal to just about any metal fan. This here is honest-to-goodness music from a region that still loves its metal the old school way.

Metal United Down Under: Get Ready for the 5th Anniversary

On 22 September 2018, metal bands around Australia will perform the all Australian metal event – Metal United Down Under (MUDU). It is the 5th edition of this initiative and around 15 cities are expected to participate. Metal United Down Under started 2014 as a community project of the Australian metal underground to offer extended exposure to bands. At the same time, the event aims to provide the scattered metal scene of the continent with a feeling of unity by participating at an event together – even though hundreds or even thousands of kilometres apart.

The event is created by promoters in various Australian cities, setting up a show or festival on the date of Metal United Down Under. There are no participation fees and all promoters or bands are welcome to join if they do not clash with an already existing show. There are some shows locked in with the first venues booked. The following cities are on board or likely to join: Albury, Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Lismore, Melbourne, Perth, Orange, Sydney, Wagga Wagga. There are more to come – check our website where shows with booked venues will be listed. For all those whose city is not listed and who would like to organise a show, contact

The project cannot be managed without partners and the first ones have been recruited but the list will hopefully grow: MUDU partners
Black-Roos Entertainment is taking over the PR and promotion and Naticus Music is creating MUDU artwork. For all metal media, labels, PR agencies or who else would like to help us spreading the word or chip in with in-kind or financial sponsorship, contact

After the success of the MUDU compilation Metal United Down Under Vol I which was distributed at all MUDU shows and 2 German festivals (Wacken and Headbangers), the follow up compilation is on its way. To get a song on the compilation, contact

Metal United Down Under preparations are getting started. Get on board and mark the 22 September in your diary! \m/

DARK PHANTOM: Support for Iraqi Metal Band to tour Syria

Under the Metal United World Wide banner, we call for support. Dark Phantom is an Iraqi metal band. Metal is forbidden in Iraq which is why they cannot play an official Metal United World Wide show. However, they would like to tour their war-torn neighbours Syria to perform Metal publicly. To be able to tour, the band members are still 1.200 EUR short. If you have some spare dollars, support these guys and the Metal in the Middle East:

If you don’t have spare dollars (or your country’s currency), check out their Facebook page and their album Nation of Dogs on Bandcamp. They are quite a rare breed in a region where Metal is between forbidden and restricted by the government. We think they deserve some kind of support for keeping the Metal flag up – a like, a good listen to their album or financial tour support. United We Stand, Divided We Fall \m/
