Australian metal combo Shatter Brain have just revealed a new music video for their song Death Goes On, the song is taking from the debut album “Pitchfork Justice”, scheduled to be released on May 1st.via Wormholedeath Records. The video Death Goes On was premiered yesterday via Legacy.

Pitchfork Justice was recorded and mixed by Jimmy Balderston at Ghostnote Recording Studios (Scott Kelly, Sumeru, Space Bong) in Adelaide, and mastered by Dav Byrne at Iridium Audio (Witchskull, YLVA, Space Bong). Shatter Brain are an Adelaide based metal band comprised of members of some of South Australia’s most successful heavy bands. The band launched in January 2018, releasing a four-song demo that was recorded and mixed by guitarist Jack Hartley and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust, Power Trip, Cavalera Conspiracy). The release was supported by an Australian & New Zealand Tour between Feb and April. This tour culminated with a debut home town show in front of over 650 punters at the annual Heavy SA Festival. The band then commenced the Rip the Stitch Asia Tour in June/July with shows in Taiwan, including a headlining performance at Wake Up Fest in Chiayi, Thailand and Malaysia as main support for Brazilian crossover-thrash legends R.D.P. (Ratos de Porão). Upon returning to Australia, Shatter Brain released a split vinyl EP (aptly titled The Twelve Inch Split) with Melbourne band Blunt Shovel in early August and embarked on another tour with King Parrot and Blunt Shovel. Shatter Brain began 2019 with a tour of Japan and returned to Australia to open for Max and Iggor Cavalera’s (Sepultura) Return to Beneath the Arise tour, during which Tom joined Max on stage to sing a rendition of AC/DCs Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. The band rounded out the year by supporting New Orleans sludge legends Eyehategod (USA) in November. With their debut album on the way, 2020 is shaping up to be the biggest year yet for Shatter Brain!

Five SurVive: Announce New Single/Lyric Video Precognition

With the 2017 Jon Doe EP and 2019 single release Stonewall already under their belts, Five SurVive are back for 2020. The band is very proud to release brand new single Precognition with accompanying lyric video – now available on all music platforms.

The music for Precognition was a fully collaborative band writing effort, born from a simple guitar riff catching everyone’s ear. It then was immediately hammered out in the jam room and very quickly morphed into what you hear today. The song’s lyrics are inspired by the determination of the human spirit and the journey through our own perception.

Five Survive are a 5 piece alternative metal band from Sydney Australia, who have now been banging out riffs together for approximately 6 years, collectively crafting a unique brand of heavy music. A group of 5 life long mates who love to get lit, get creative in the jam space and strive constantly to deliver an intense live show experience not to be forgotten.

Mental Disaster: The Repulsive Abomination is out today via Death To Music Productions

Today, Norwegian Death Metallers Mental Disaster release their new album The Repulsive Abomination on Digipac CD via Death To Music productions.

Both ‘High Priest of Doom’ and ‘Bow to the Blade’ are bloodthirsty tracks and I imagine they would be a solid sledge to the face when they play them live. The same can be said about ‘Sword of Vengeance’ and ‘Testify and Repent’. The latter having a chorus that is super chant-worthy. I envisage the crowd whipped into a powerful, primal frenzy which is exactly what you want at a metal gig, right?  I know that’s what I want.” Carly Gibbs – GoodCall Live

“Mental Disaster’s third album was released on Valentine’s Day 2020 via Death to Music Productions and is one of the strongest and most intense Death Metal albums, I have recently experienced. Unfussy, straightforward and brachial Death Metal for lovers of Death Metal.” Mangowave

The Repulsive Abomination is a heavy mix of groove-based Death Metal, punishing technical drumming, guttural vocals and traditional Death Metal themes. This is a great blend of what we term the ‘Scandinavian’ sound crossed with Deicide, Slayer and classic Morbid Angel. To quote one of their reviews: “The band performs first-class death metal turned into a black, misanthropic, cannibalistic, blasphemous outcome with the antithesis being that the end result is great for the fans of this genre.

Ironstone: Australian Progressive Metal Band Release New EP Prophecy on May 29th

Australian progressive metal band IRONSTONE are set to release their debut EP Prophecy on the 29th of May 2020. Today they reveal the artwork and track list (see below). The band released a video for the song Bound late last year as a taste of what will hit you on May 29th.

IRONSTONE say about their EP: “We are thrilled to present our debut EP ‘Prophecy’ to the world. This collection of songs covers a broad range of feelings, from heavy and serious subject matter through to the quirky and light hearted. Being a first release for us and having evolved so much in the last few years, we feel especially philosophical about our direction as a band and our path as young adults. ‘Prophecy’ is about acknowledging the overwhelming doubt of what the future holds and casting that aside in order to take control of our own reality. It flows and integrates from hopelessness to empowerment, from caution to impulsivity and encourages a journey of self-discovery that is vaguely familiar yet somehow completely new.“

To help fund the EP release IRONSTONE have launched a crowd funding campaign with POZIBLE, but this isn’t about asking for hand outs. It’s actually a great opportunity to preorder digital downloads, signed CDs, T shirts and other cool merch. Plus there are some more personalized rewards that you couldn’t get anywhere else. It’s a fantastic way to support the band!

Influenced by a range of metal genres, IRONSTONE’s music features the duality of clean and distorted vocals, djent driven riffs and breakdowns, atmospheric layers and catchy choruses. The result is a contemporary metal sound that is sophisticated, melodic and hard hitting.
