BIOGRAPHY
Küntsquäd (pronounced Kountskard) are a four-piece extreme metal force from Melbourne, Australia, formed in 2017. Blending crushing death metal, blackened chaos, doom-laden heaviness, and crust-inspired aggression, the band has carved out a sound that refuses to fit neatly into any single genre. Equal parts brutal, bizarre, and unapologetically original, Küntsquäd deliver a filthy, riff-driven assault built on down-tuned punishment, devastating gutturals, blast beats, and unpredictable moments of darkness.
The band features Paula VC Damnzal(guitar, vocals, songwriting), Brett Eldridge (bass), Adam Holmes (drums), and Nikronomicon Satanik(lead guitar). Each member brings years of experience from previous high-profile Australian metal projects, combining their collective musical history into a uniquely twisted sonic identity.
Since their formation, Küntsquäd have built a reputation through relentless live performances, touring extensively across Australia’s east coast and appearing at numerous local shows and festivals. Managed by Michael Lueders of Black-Roos Entertainment, the band continues to expand their reach with plans to bring their extreme live ritual to international audiences.
In 2022, Küntsquäd signed with Wormholedeath Records Worldwide and released their self-titled debut album. Recorded and mastered by Jason Fuller (Bloodduster) at Goatsound Studios, with artwork and logo design by RokArt of Sadistik Exekution, the 14-track release introduced the world to the band’s uncompromising brand of extreme metal. The album received widespread praise across Australia, Europe, Japan, and the United States, earning international airplay, playlist features, interviews, and coverage throughout the global metal community. Two Australian pressings sold out, with European editions remaining available, while the band’s darkly themed merchandise has consistently gained popularity through their Bandcamp following and live performances.
In 2024, Küntsquäd renewed their partnership with Wormholedeath Records for their highly anticipated second release, “Satans Cock”(2025). Once again recorded at Goatsound Studios with Jason Fuller and Jamie Colic, the album pushed the band’s extreme sound even further, delivering a heavier, darker, and more chaotic evolution of their signature style.
Featuring the unmistakable artwork and satanic imagery of RokArt, “Satans Cock” quickly became one of the most talked-about Australian metal releases of the year. The album received widespread international acclaim through digital publications, physical metal magazines, podcasts, and radio programs, including coverage from outlets such as Metallurg, Metalized, Decibel, Legacy, Rock Hard (EU), and an interview feature with Zach Moonshine of Metal Devastation Radio (USA).
The release reached #1 on The Heavy Magazine charts in Australia for two consecutive weeks and was recognized as one of the heaviest and most controversial Australian metal releases of the year. The band’s extreme visual approach has also attracted attention, with multiple videos from the album receiving censorship and bans on platforms including YouTube due to their graphic and confrontational imagery.
Küntsquäd continued their international momentum with inclusion on Imperative Music Compilation Volume 18, celebrating the compilation’s 15-year anniversary alongside legendary acts such as Deicide and God Dethroned. Their track “Eat Your Entrails” was featured on the worldwide sampler, later receiving a limited-edition live-only single release in January 2025.
With a sound that draws comparisons to early Carcass, Last Days of Humanity, and Sadistik Exekution, Küntsquäd are not simply a throwback to extreme metal’s past. They are a band constantly pushing forward, combining brutality, dark humor, grotesque imagery, and relentless experimentation to create their own unmistakable form of sonic devastation.
Unholy crusty death metal from the depths of Melbourne. Küntsquäd are here to corrupt, crush, and challenge the boundaries of extreme metal.
