Ironstone: Australian Progressive Metal Band Release Debut EP Prophecy Today

The highly acclaimed debut EP Prophecy by IRONSTONE is finally out today.
“Prophecy refers to prediction, but not by relying on fate alone. It’s about acknowledging the overwhelming doubt for what the future holds and promptly casting that to the side in order to take control of our own reality” explains IRONSTONE. “Being our first release and having evolved so much in the last few years, we feel especially philosophical about our direction as a band and our path as young adults. We choose to be optimistic and convey a hopeful message. We cannot predict the future but we can affect it with our actions.”

The EP has been well received and celebrated by the press around the world:
“Some of the best bands in metal today are coming out of the Australian continent. Polaris, Northlane, In Hearts Wake, Make Them Suffer, the list goes on and on. Today, it gets larger with Ironstone and their debut EP, Prophecy.”
Mike Reitemeier – New Fury Media

one debut that outshines all the others so far has to be Prophecy an EP by Australian Progressive Metallers Ironstone. To say it’s remarkable is an understatement especially when it comes to your attention that this is by a group of teenagers, it is mind-blowing
Seb Di Gatto – The Metal Gods Meltdown

The Australian progressive metallers have already released videos for the singles Bound & Downpour.

IRONSTONE is a progressive metal band from Bendigo, Australia. As a young band breaking into the Melbourne metal scene in 2018, it quickly became apparent that their high energy live performance and impressive musicianship was turning heads and earning them the attention of many new fans. Greatly influenced by progressive giants such as Periphery, Twelve Foot Ninja and Tesseract, their music features the brutality of screams and down-tuned percussive guitars, balanced in delicate equilibrium with melodic choruses, thought-provoking lyrics and atmospheric layers. The result is a unique, highly modern metal sound that is sophisticated and hard-hitting, while simultaneously enticing you to sing along.

Ironstone: Australian Progressive Metal Band Release New Video/Single Downpour

Australian progressive metal band IRONSTONE is set to release their debut EP Prophecy on 29 May 2020. Today they are thrilled to present Downpour, a new single and video from Prophecy. The video was premiered at Metal.de yesterday.

“In the past, Down Under has delighted us with AC/DC, Silverchair and Airbourne – the musical future could be called Ironstone.”
Ralfi Ralf – Metal-Heads.de

The band states: “Downpour was written quite a while ago and has developed over time. We incorporated an eastern theme to create the atmosphere of a heavy, monsoonal storm. We loved the idea of filming a music video in pouring rain, which was actually a major incentive to write the song. The lyrics deal with missing the early signs of trouble and then suddenly finding yourself immersed in a bad situation. The song is really about the beauty of hindsight! “

Downpour is both aggressive and melodic, with a djent driven guitar riff that interweaves with a Japanese koto, giving the song a distinctly oriental feel. It features heavily down-tuned guitars, a brutal breakdown, ambient synth elements, an intricate guitar solo and a strong melody.

Metal Alliance: New Metal Festival Announces the 2020 Line-Up

Metal Alliance was born from a burning need to connect Australia’s incredible local and national metal talent to its fans. Bringing bands together from across the country into Sydney NSW, where metal fans from surrounding states can easily travel to, showcasing this country’s insane talent is the prime objective of Metal Alliance. Without a doubt, it is a huge undertaking, but it is one that will unite metal fans together joyously and memorably.

Talk about the suitability of the venue, the epic line-up of 10 bands spans over 6 states. The idea represents an epic event now already, and something that will grow to become a metal institution. Each year will have an entirely new line-up to dish out as many opportunities as possible for bands applying to the festival. It’s all about the fans and the alliance that is metal, f… the genres and sub-genres. If its metal it gets a go, it’s something for everyone.
